Progress

I've discovered a new ballband dishcloth outlet--mop covers! I made these for my friends Candyce and Andy.

I've also made a lot of progress on my Icarus Shawl. I started the fifth and last repeat of the first chart. The rows are now so long they take almost fifteen minutes each to complete!
I bought some new circular needles for this project--Addi Lace Turbos. They work great. I am loving the soft Malabrigo yarn too.

So I've been out of the knitting world for awhile now & I was just checking to see what you are up to on Ravelry, and then I realized I haven't looked at your blog in like 6 months!!!

Eeek! So I spent the past little while looking back at everything. And:

Sheldon is too cute! Dishcloths are always awesome. I was thinking about those mop covers not 5 minutes before I looked at your site. I really need to make some.

You're shawl is really going to be a beaut. I love the color, am totally jealous of the mmmMalabrigo, & Icarus is really gorgeous. I spent a long time contemplating that pattern when I knit my wedding shawl. We are right there together on the tinking. I spent foreveah on each row, just so I wouldn't have to go back to fix a mistake! Ha!

So sorry for the long post. I'm putting you on my toolbar now, so I can keep up with you.

Sure, Candyce!

Laurie, Ravelry is an awesome tool, and if it weren't for my sewing projects, I would probably drop the blog. As you probably know, you can only put knitting or crochet projects on Ravelry. Harsh!

Ravelry: I love to see yarn substitutions people have used, and I love putting patterns in a queue. I love having a record of my projects that's easy to see all at once.

Thanks! Yes, I am really concentrating on each lace row, and then I check to make sure I have all the yarn-overs, etc., before moving on. So far, so good! I was definitely inspired by your wedding shawl.

Aww, thanks!

Re: Ravelry- I know what you mean about yarn subs. That's definitely one of the very best features. I know there has been talk of a ravelry-like site for sewing, so hopefully someone is working on it!
