Sewing games

With the help of my mom, I'm trying my hand at designing a sewing pattern for a small toy. The ultimate goal is to make two or three toy patterns and sell them on Etsy. It's a game of trial and error at the moment!

That's really cool, good luck!

I've been wanting to put some knit things up on Etsy for awhile, but it's hard to find time to knit for myself & for profit.

Thanks, guys! If I can find some way to finagle market research out of you, I may. : )

Laurie, that's why I want to sell patterns, not physical pieces. I don't want to spend all my time making the same thing over and over again.

Etsy's a fascinating place to explore--I recommend it. People make some really neat things!

You should TOTALLY sell patterns. What would be neat is if you could make patterns for traditional book characters (don't know what sorts of ownership laws would apply, however).

I have thought of book characters, and they'd have to be old ones, like Alice in Wonderland, Dorothy, fairy tale characters. I used to like Aesop's fables, which is all animals, and that would be fun and possibly educational.

Basically, everything's gonna be cute, different, and most likely have a face (be a person or animal). : )
