Craft:
I am blown away by this craft magazine, Craft: transforming traditional crafts!
I picked it up at Barnes & Noble today after being drawn in by Jess Hutch's familiar knitted robot dolls on the cover. There's also an article about Jenny Hart, master embroiderer. Here's some of the how-to's:
silk screening
chain mail
framing
hard cider
iPod cozy
knitted boots
cat playground
room divider
shirt sewing

Neat! We receive a similarly formatted magazine called Make. It is more about using discarded electronic/mechanical items to create newer, more useful items.
Neat! There are some woodworking and tech projects in Craft too.
I was leafing through that real quick the other day...it looks great, and I almost would have bought it, had it not been $15. I don't know what my problem is, but I feel like a magazine should never cost more than like 6 bucks. I'm sure this is a very worth it, independent mag., but oh well.
The day after Christmas gives me the urge to splurge--mostly on myself.
